Face Plate, Singer 221 & 222

The chrome face plate on the black Featherweights is a distinctive and appealing feature of the machines. The face plate style evolved over time with the machines, beginning in 1933 with the scroll plate with the loop thread guide on the bottom. In the later half of 1935 the lower thread guide was changed from the loop to a wavy guide open on the left side, but the rest of the features remained the same.

Very late in 1937 the face plate was redesigned to have scroll work coverage over more of the plate. Also, the "legs" in the design on the face were changed to be the same length. This face plate lasted until later in 1947, when it was replaced by the striated or "tuxedo" face plate.

We only have these available when we can get them as they have to come off donor machines. We generally do not have the very first early style with the loop thread guide. You can email us if we show out of stock and maybe we have one coming in soon.

These do not include the attachment screw.
