Thread post adapter converts the vertical spool pin on almost every vintage Singer to a horizontal thread delivery system. This adapter allows the thread to come off the spool without the twisting that occurs when modern cross-wound thread spools rotate on a vertical pin. Most modern machines now have horizontal spool pins for that reason and this adapter allows you to convert your machine to this modern horizontal configuration. The benefit is often a much prettier and more consistent stitch.
