Spool Pin, Plastic, Drive-in

This plastic spool pin fits the Singer 401, 403, 404, and other machines.

These plastic spool pins are made oversize on purpose to fit a variety of machines. You do have to "fit" them to make them go into your machine. The easiest way to do this is to chuck them up into a cordless drill with the end that is already tapered sticking out. Then just run the drill and hold a finger nail emery board on the tapered end of the pin. That will make it smaller. Just be careful to only take off a little bit and then try it. You don't want to go too far to where it is loose in the hole. If that happens you can cut the end off and try again but the pin will be pretty short.
