Featherweight Maintenance Workshop

This five-hour class will cover everything the user needs to know to maintain their machine in top working order. This is a hands-on class in which you will bring your own Featherweight, and learn the following:
- Complete user-level disassembly
- Stray thread removal
- Cleaning
- Checking the electrical
- Oiling
- Greasing the motor and gears
- Reassembling
- Installing and adjusting the belt
- Servicing the foot controller
- Adjusting tensions and test sew-out.
The only prerequisites are having a Featherweight and knowing how to thread and sew with it. Each attendee will be required to bring a machine and pay for the class - no auditing allowed. Class size will be 8 or less to allow for plenty of individual instruction.
Properly fitted screwdrivers are essential for Featherweight maintenance without damaging the machine, and to keep up with the class. A maintenance tool and service parts kit is sold separately for $69 as a part of this class. Please be prepared to purchase the required kit on the day of the class. If you already have your own tools or parts and don't need the complete kit we can provide whatever individual items you need during the class.
1 five hour session $115 class fee AND $69 class kit (if needed)
