We have just completed our first year of business AND survived. Now, two words come to mind: THANK YOU!!! You have all been patient and supportive as we grew our inventory and worked out the bugs. As we continue to learn and grow, we have dialed up our class offerings. We have a great selection from basic beginner classes to classes that offer the seasoned quilter opportunities for mastering more advanced techniques. BEGINNING QUILTMAKING    
Sharon Wilhelm  6 two hour sessions $60 Beg
This class will build a great foundation for quilting. In every class we will play with color. We will start with fundamentals: hand piecing, accurate rotary cutting, machine piecing, appliqué, setting blocks in rows, attaching borders, batting and binding, hand quilting. There will be homework each week.

INTERMEDIATE QUILTMAKING		    
Sharon Wilhelm  6 two hour sessions $60 Int/Adv
This is a skill building series of lessons. You will be using your sewing machine, learning color study, inset seams, fusible appliqué, appli-quilting, setting blocks on point, piping, scalloped borders and machine quilting borders. 52” x 52” wall hanging.

ADVANCED QUILTMAKING

This class is designed to take you one step further in building your skills and confidence. Yes, it is a little challenging but very rewarding. You will learn paper piecing, reverse appliqué, pieced borders, fusible appliqué, appli-quilting, mitered borders fusible batting, machine quilting and a new binding technique

BEGINNING EMBROIDERY - BLOOMING BASKET IN REDWORK

Embroidery has always been a deservedly popular hobby.
It stimulates the imagination and, at the same time, provides an island of calm in the midst of a hustle/bustle world. Let’s create this blooming basket mini quilt (15” x15” using 16 stitches.)

INTERMEDIATE EMBROIDERY - THREAD PLAY

This colorful Blooming Basket has 16 stitches but we will focus on “Thread Play” using a beautiful floss palette which can be purchased separately or just pull floss from your collection using the pattern color suggestions.

BORDERS AND BINDINGS

Bring a layered quilt and we will talk about borders, border finishes and the correct way to put on your borders. We will learn how to attach binding and finish your quilt.

CRAZY JACKS

As the ladies at Buggy Barn say, “It’s just not fall without pumpkins.” Learn the Buggy Barn technique of stacking, cutting, and switching fabrics to make some really cute Jack-o-lanterns for Halloween.

FALL TIME TABLE RUNNER

Fall brings a cool breath of air after a long hot summer. This seasonal table runner will remind us of the many blessing we receive daily. This project features fast piecing and fusible appliqué in order to be ready for the holidays.

4 PATCH STACK

You can’t get any easier that a 4-patch. Add the stack–and–whack technique and you have this unique 4-Patch Stack quilt! You’ll be able to get most of the quilt done in this all day class.

GUMBO YA-YA

This is a simple quilt. You make several different quilts out of this same book; three different blocks-different combinations!!!

HAND QUILTING-THAT PERFECT STITCH    
Sharon Wilhelm  1 - 6 1/2 hour session $35 Beg/Int/Adv
While quilting, you will gain an understanding of the basics of the stitch as well as proper use of tools. Learning the mechanics of the hand will help you determine your stitch length per inch. Each student will receive individual attention.

MACHINE QUILTING		    
Sharon Wilhelm One 6 ½ hour session $35 Beg/Int/Adv
So many tops and so little time! Machine quilting can be quicker than hand quilting and still beautiful. Battings and basting as well as straight line and free motion are taught. We will work on muslin sandwiched sample and then quilt a little preprinted Holiday Wreath Mini-Whole Cloth quilt. You must be very familiar with your sewing machine. A walking foot and darning foot are required.

MERRY AND BRIGHT		    
Marianne Gildea  One 5 hour session $30 Intermediate
Make some presents for yourself with this “Merry and Bright” buggy Barn pattern. Marianne has modified the pattern a little by not using the green tree in the original. Come join this class to learn the Buggy Barn technique.

ONE BLOCK WONDER		    
Kelly Edwards  Two 4 hour sessions $45 Int/Adv
Use this combination stack-and-whack/kaleidoscope technique to make a quilt out of one fabric and one type of block. Depending on the fabric you use, the quilt can turn out to be dramatic or subtle, but it will always be a surprise. The size of the quilt will depend on the size of the repeat in the fabric you select.

QUILT AS YOU GO-STARS AND STRIPES

Need a fast project? Let’s quilt as you go! Christmas is coming and just a change of theme fabrics (college, seasonal, etc.) makes this a fun gift. There will be a little fusing of letters and stars and appli-quilting.

 SHARON’S APPLIQUE ACADEMY-PART I		    
Sharon Wilhelm One 6 ½ hour session $35 Beg/Int/Adv
We are introducing the first of a four part Appliqué Academy which will be offered over the course of the next 12 months. The project is “The Flowers of Summer,” a 75” x 75” quilt made up of four large blocks. A nine patch border provides straight line contrast to the flowing lines of the appliqués and allows the flowers to “grow” outside their blocks. Each class will teach 3-4 different appliqué methods, introduce numerous tools and offer valuable tips and tricks. (Students who elect to take only one class of the academy will work on one of the 20” x 20” blocks to use as a beautiful wall hanging.)

For part I, the poppy block, these techniques will be taught: tiny stems, 1/8” bias bar stems, appliqués off the block, basted units, freezer paper on top, reversible and basic appliqué, and the “how to” of various shapes.

STASH BUSTER SERIES: DRUNKARD’S PATH CRITTERS

Let’s use up some more stash while learning the secrets of curved piecing. We will use various layouts to create unique blocks. 32” x 40” quilt

STASH BUSTER SERIES: EASY DIAMONDS QUILT, FUN AND DONE!

This piecing method allows you to complete the quilting as you assemble each block. Sew the blocks together and you’re done! Now, that’s fun!!!

This longtime favorite traditional quilt makes a great use of assorted prints, plaids and background squares. Use full width of fabric or just 5” squares.

One simple unit makes the Woodland Clover block and picket fence border block. All are made from your stash cut into 5” project.

STRING OF STARS

A wonderful big quilt made of stars. How fun does that sound? This is a Buggy Barn but with a different twist. The star block is partially paper pieced on muslin. This is a great project to use up some of your stash.

Turn an ordinary sweatshirt into a jacket with raw edges. This fun, fast and lightweight jacket is a great addition to everyone’s wardrobe.

TWISTED LOG CABIN PINWHEELS		    
Kelly Edwards  One 5 ½ hour session $45 Int/Adv
If you’re up for a challenge, come join us and make this dramatic and colorful wall quilt. The blocks are paper-pieced on a triangular twisted log cabin template. If you enjoy paper piecing, this is the project for you. Kit required.

WINTERTIME TABLE RUNNER

“Wintertime” is a table runner to grace your table to set the mood during the winter in between those special holidays. You will learn shadow appliqué snowflakes and several ways of making flying geese.

DEAR JANE CLUB 		   
Club meets first Saturday of each month from 1:00-5:00 $10/month
So you want to get to know some fun folks and go through the “Dear Jane” book? This class will help you make these challenging blocks for your very own Dear Jane quilt.

This occurs every third Saturday night. There is no fee, just the chance to visit, laugh and enjoy the company of friends. Bring chocolate or your favorite snack.

This occurs every fourth Sunday. Take a break with friends, enjoy time shared doing what we love. Bring a snack and your current project.

JODI’S GARDEN BLOCK OF THE MONTH		  
This beautiful appliqué block of the month is available in two color ways: blue and white or batiks. It is a 12 month program which has been underway since January. You may join now and purchase one block per month or catch up with the first six blocks all at once or a few at a time. You may sign up in person or over the phone.
Options:
 - In store pick-up, ready on the 1st of each month
 - Auto shipped monthly on the first Thursday of each month

 
  Blue and white: $47.50 for 1st block (pattern included)
 		 $20 for blocks 2-12
  Batik: $47.50 for 1st block (pattern included) $22.50 for blocks 2-12.

CLASS POLICIES

  • Full class fee is required to hold your place in class.

  • Minimum number of students is three. Beginning and intermediated quilting minimum is six. Please sign up as early as possible. Space is limited.

  • Lunch: You will need to bring a sack lunch if your class covers a lunch hour.

  • Supply list will be given upon registration

  • Refunds will be made until 7 days prior to class date.

  • Please NO CHILDREN in classes

  • Please turn off your cell phones while in class as a courtesy to our teachers and other students.

  • You may sign up for classes over the phone.
